मिर्ज़ा असद-उल्लाह बेग ख़ां उर्फ “ग़ालिब” (२७ दिसंबर१७९६ – १५ फरवरी १८६९) उर्दू एवं फ़ारसी भाषा के महान शायर थे। इनको उर्दू भाषा का सर्वकालिक महान शायर माना जाता है और फ़ारसी कविता के प्रवाह को हिन्दुस्तानी जबान में लोकप्रिय करवाने का श्रेय भी इनको दिया जाता है। यद्दपि इससे पहले के वर्षो में मीर तक़ी “मीर” भी इसी वजह से जाने जाता है। ग़ालिब के लिखे पत्र, जो उस समय प्रकाशित नहीं हुए थे, को भी उर्दू लेखन का महत्वपूर्ण दस्तावेज़ माना जाता है। ग़ालिब को भारत और पाकिस्तान में एक महत्वपूर्ण कवि के रूप में जाना जाता है। उन्हे दबीर-उल-मुल्क और नज़्म-उद-दौला का खिताब मिला। Mirza ghalib story ग़ालिब (और असद) नाम से लिखने वाले मिर्ज़ा मुग़ल काल के आख़िरी शासक बहादुर शाह ज़फ़र के दरबारी कवि भी रहे थे। आगरा, दिल्ली और कलकत्ता में अपनी ज़िन्दगी गुजारने वाले ग़ालिब को मुख्यतः उनकी उर्दू ग़ज़लों को लिए याद किया जाता है। उन्होने अपने बारे में स्वयं लिखा था कि दुनिया में यूं तो बहुत से अच्छे कवि-शायर हैं, लेकिन उनकी शैली सबसे निराली है: “हैं और भी दुनिया में सुख़न्वर बहुत अच्छे कहते हैं कि ग़ालिब का है अन्दाज़-ए बयां और” जीवन परिचय ग़ालिब का जन्म आगरा में एक सैनिक पृष्ठभूमि वाले परिवार में हुआ था। उन्होने अपने पिता और चाचा को बचपन में ही खो दिया था, ग़ालिब का जीवनयापन मूलत: अपने चाचा के मरणोपरांत मिलने वाले पेंशन से होता था[1] (वो ब्रिटिश ईस्ट इंडिया कंपनी में सैन्य अधिकारी थे)।[2] ग़ालिब की पृष्ठभूमि एक तुर्क परिवार से थी और इनके दादा मध्य एशिया के समरक़न्द से सन् १७५० के आसपास भारत आए थे। उनके दादा मिर्ज़ा क़ोबान बेग खान अहमद शाह के शासन काल में समरकंद से भारत आये। उन्होने दिल्ली, लाहौर व जयपुर में काम किया और अन्ततः आगरा में बस गये। उनके दो पुत्र व तीन पुत्रियां थी। मिर्ज़ा अब्दुल्ला बेग खान व मिर्ज़ा नसरुल्ला बेग खान उनके दो पुत्र थे। मिर्ज़ा अब्दुल्ला...

*महान वैज्ञानिक डा. विक्रम साराभाई*
जिस समय देश अंग्रेजों के चंगुल से स्वतन्त्र हुआ, तब भारत में विज्ञान सम्बन्धी शोध प्रायः नहीं होते थे। गुलामी के कारण लोगों के मानस में यह धारणा बनी हुई थी कि भारतीय लोग प्रतिभाशाली नहीं है। शोध करना या नयी खोज करना इंग्लैण्ड, अमरीका, रूस, जर्मनी, फ्रान्स आदि देशों का काम है। इसलिए मेधावी होने पर भी भारतीय वैज्ञानिक कुछ विशेष नहीं कर पा रहे थे।पर स्वतन्त्रता प्राप्ति के बाद देश का वातावरण बदला। ऐसे में जिन वैज्ञानिकों ने अपने परिश्रम और खोज के बल पर विश्व में भारत का नाम ऊँचा किया, उनमें डा. विक्रम साराभाई का नाम बड़े आदर से लिया जाता है। उन्होंने न केवल स्वयं गम्भीर शोध किये, बल्कि इस क्षेत्र में आने के लिए युवकों में उत्साह जगाया और नये लोगों को प्रोत्साहन दिया। भारत के पूर्व राष्ट्रपति डा. कलाम ऐसे ही लोगों में से एक हैं।
डा. साराभाई का जन्म 12 अगस्त, 1919 को कर्णावती (अमदाबाद, गुजरात) में हुआ था। पिता श्री अम्बालाल और माता श्रीमती सरला बाई ने विक्रम को अच्छे संस्कार दिये। उनकी शिक्षा माण्टसेरी पद्धति के विद्यालय से प्रारम्भ हुई। इनकी गणित और विज्ञान में विशेष रुचि थी। वे नयी बात सीखने को सदा उत्सुक रहते थे। श्री अम्बालाल का सम्बन्ध देश के अनेक प्रमुख लोगों से था। रवीन्द्र नाथ टैगोर, जवाहरलाल नेहरू, डा. चन्द्रशेखर वेंकटरामन और सरोजिनी नायडू जैसे लोग इनके घर पर ठहरते थे। इस कारण विक्रम की सोच बचपन से ही बहुत व्यापक हो गयी।
डा. साराभाई ने अपने माता-पिता की प्रेरणा से बालपन में ही यह निश्चय कर लिया कि उन्हें अपना जीवन विज्ञान के माध्यम से देश और मानवता की सेवा में लगाना है। स्नातक की शिक्षा के लिए वे कैम्ब्रिज विश्वविद्यालय गये और 1939 में ‘नेशनल साइन्स ऑफ ट्रिपोस’ की उपाधि ली। द्वितीय विश्व युद्ध छिड़ने पर वे भारत लौट आये और बंगलौर में प्रख्यात वैज्ञानिक डा. चन्द्रशेखर वेंकटरामन के निर्देशन में प्रकाश सम्बन्धी शोध किया। इसकी चर्चा सब ओर होने पर कैम्ब्रिज विश्वविद्यालय ने उन्हें डी.एस-सी. की उपाधि से सम्मानित किया। अब उनके शोध पत्र विश्वविख्यात शोध पत्रिकाओं में छपने लगे।
अब उन्होंने कर्णावती (अमदाबाद) के डाइकेनाल और त्रिवेन्द्रम स्थित अनुसन्धान केन्द्रों में काम किया। उनका विवाह प्रख्यात नृत्यांगना मृणालिनी देवी से हुआ। उनकी विशेष रुचि अन्तरिक्ष कार्यक्रमों में थी। वे चाहते थे कि भारत भी अपने उपग्रह अन्तरिक्ष में भेज सके। इसके लिए उन्होंने त्रिवेन्द्रम के पास थुम्बा और श्री हरिकोटा में राकेट प्रक्षेपण केन्द्र स्थापित किये।
डा. साराभाई भारत के ग्राम्य जीवन को विकसित देखना चाहते थे। ‘नेहरू विकास संस्थान’ के माध्यम से उन्होंने गुजरात की उन्नति में महत्त्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाई। वह देश-विदेश की अनेक विज्ञान और शोध सम्बन्धी संस्थाओं के अध्यक्ष और सदस्य थे। अन्तरराष्ट्रीय ख्याति प्राप्त करने के बाद भी वे गुजरात विश्वविद्यालय में भौतिकी के शोध छात्रों को सदा सहयोग करते रहे।
डा. साराभाई 20 दिसम्बर, 1971 को अपने साथियों के साथ थुम्बा गये थे। वहाँ से एक राकेट का प्रक्षेपण होना था। दिन भर वहाँ की तैयारियाँ देखकर वे अपने होटल में लौट आये; पर उसी रात में अचानक उनका देहान्त हो गया।

Eid Al Fitr is celebrated by Muslims all across the globe and marks the end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting. Eid Al Fitr also called the “Festival of breaking fast” will fall on June 5 this year. Eid AL Fitr is the only day when Muslims are not allowed to fast during the month of Shawwal. The date of the start of any lunar Hijri month varies according to the sighting of new moon by religious authorities, and since Eid Al Fitr marks the first day of Shawwal month, it is celebrated on different days across localities.
History
Eid Al Fitr was started by Islamic Prophet Muhammad. It is believed that Prophet Muhammad got the first revelation of the Holy Quran during the month of Ramadan. Eid Al Fitr then marked the end of fasting from dawn to dusk during Ramadan and the beginning of the Shawwal month. Eid Al Fitr is also celebrated to pay respect to Allah for providing the strength and endurance during the month long fasting rituals.
Celebration
Muslims across the globe start Eid Al Fitr celebrations by taking part in prayers which is followed by a sermon soon after dawn. The day proceeds with people getting ready, wearing new clothes and exchanging greetings and sweets. Children receive gifts and money from elders. The day is incomplete without the preparation of a variety of dishes including Biryani, Haleem, kebabs and a sweet dish like Seviyan. As one of the five pillars of Islam, Zakat or giving of alms to the poor is also practiced on Eid.
Eid al-Adha is the second of the two Islamic holidays celebrated all over the world every year. Eid al-Adha is celebrated to honour the willingness of Ibrahim to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to God. However, before he could do so, God provided a lamb to be sacrificed instead. To commemorate this, an animal is sacrificed and divided into three parts. One part is given to the poor, one is kept for one’s home and the third is given to relatives.
This year, Eid al-Adha falls on August 12. Devotees offer prayers at the mosque. A large number of devotees plan their Hajj pilgrimage and travel to Mecca around this time. Many of them save money for several years to be able to afford this trip.
